The class had two pop quiz's on the novel to see how well they followed along in our discussions as we read our book. This week we will finish our novel The Castle in the Attic. Students will be making an illumination letter, coat of arms and have a final test on the book Friday, November 9th.

LANGUAGE ARTS
We continue to learn about past tense, future tense verbs. We will also write present tense verbs that agree in number with their subjects. Our Unit 3 test will be Friday, Nov. 16th.
SOCI
AL STUDIES
Yesterday students had the whole class period to work on their biography on Ben Franklin. This project will be due Monday, Nov. 12th. In lesson 4 students will learn that slavery expanded rapidly in the English Colonies during the 1700s, especially in the Southern Colonies. Chapter 6 Test will be Wed. November 14th. To give students a better understanding of trading and bartering, we are having our Trade Fair on Thursday, November 15th.
SCIENCE
This week we are testing the amount of fat, protein, and carbohydrates in certain foods. Thanks for helping bring in all the food for these experiments.

We continue to work on chapter 4 on multiplication. Our final test will be next Thursday, November 15th.
